원스의 주인공 Glen Hansard가 돌아왔다.

아일랜드의 차가운 길바닥에서 목이 터져라 처절하게 Leave!!!!를 외치던 반항적인 모습이 아직도 눈에 선한데… 이제 그는 힘을 빼고, 그윽하게 삶을 이야기하는 중년이 되었다.

「Between Two Shores(2018)」 앨범의 마지막 곡인 Time Will Be The Healer는 임자 있는 남자를 사랑해서 고통스러워하고 있는 이에게 보내는 위로곡이다. ‘시간이 모든 것을 치유할 것’이라는 메시지는 진부하고 무책임하기 짝이 없지만 또 이만한 진리도 없다.

자그맣게 읊조리다가 끝에 가서 핏대를 세우며 폭발시키는 구성은 그의 전유물이다. 늘 똑같은 구성이지만, 늘 똑같이 감동 받는다. 내가 억누른 무언가를 그가 대신 풀어줘서 그런것인지도 모른다.
